Professor Shaker A. Zahra named 2009 Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar
Shaker A. Zahra, the Robert E. Buuck Chair of Entrepreneurship and Professor of Strategy and Organization and academic director of the Gary S. Holmes Entrepreneurship Center, was named the 2009 Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar by the Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises at the Whitman School of Management (Syracuse University).
The annual award honors a researcher who has made a significant contribution to the development of the field of entrepreneurship.
The award is in recognition for Zahra’s writing and leadership of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy, service as Director of the Babson Entrepreneurship Conference, and, among others, track- division chair of the international entrepreneurship in the Academy of International Business, Decision Sciences, and Southern Management. In addition, it recognizes his service as area editor for Journal of International Business Studies for new ventures and international entrepreneurship, and for his work with nearly 70 doctoral students from over 20 countries; work that received the Mentor Award from the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy.
Zahra is also the recent recipient of the Carlson School’s 2009 Excellence Research Award.
