Xerox Chairman and CEO to Speak at the Carlson School of Management

Minneapolis (Feb. 16)-Xerox Chairman and CEO Anne Mulcahy and host Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Carlson Companies Chairman and CEO, will discuss Mulcahy’s revival of one of America’s most enduring brands during the "Inside the Boardroom" leadership series Tuesday, March 9 at 6 p.m. at the Carlson School of Management. Nelson, host of the evening’s event, will interview Mulcahy on her untraditional rise to Xerox’s top position and her legendary success at turning around an ailing company. The event will be held in the Carlson School’s 3M Auditorium, 321 19th Ave. S., Minneapolis.

Mulcahy and Nelson will engage in a "top-to top" conversation about Mullcahy’s life before Xerox, her career successes and challenges and her thoughts on leadership. The two business leaders will then be joined by a panel of faculty experts to discuss a range of business issues.

Mulcahy began her career selling Xerox copiers in Boston. Over the last three years, she has led the $16-billion company through a massive transformation to reclaim its position as the global leader in document management solutions. Mulcahy was named CEO on Aug. 1, 2001, and chairman on Jan. 1, 2002. Her success at the helm of Xerox led FORTUNE to name her the fourth most powerful woman in business. She most recently was Xerox’s president and chief operating officer from May 2000 through July 2001. Prior to that, she was president of Xerox’s General Markets Operations, which created and sold products for reseller, dealer and retail channels. She began her Xerox career as a field sales representative in 1976. In addition to the Xerox board, Mulcahy is a member of the boards of directors of Fuji Xerox Company, Ltd., Target Corporation and Fannie Mae. She is also a member of The Business Council and a board member of Catalyst, a nonprofit organization supporting women in business.

Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. and a networking reception follows. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Register by March 2 at www.carlsonschool.umn.edu/events or call (612) 626-9635.
