Minneapolis (April 21)-Steven Hatting, executive director of relations at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, named Kristine Kosek as the director of alumni services and outreach, effective Monday, April 19.

As a senior member of the Corporate and Alumni Services department, Kosek is primarily responsible for maintaining an informed, engaged alumni body. She will oversee career development and networking initiatives that connect more than 44,000 Carlson School graduates around the world. Kosek will also manage a volunteer program that supports more than 2,000 volunteer speakers sharing their professional experiences with business students each year.

"We are fortunate to add a top leader and performer with Kris’s credentials to the Carlson School’s outreach efforts," said Hatting. "I am confident she will bring and employ new ideas that strengthen connections within the Carlson School community."

Kosek, 38, has worked at the University of Minnesota for ten years. Most recently, Kosek was director of alumni relations at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Technology. She also held a program coordinator position in the Geometry Center at the University of Minnesota and served as an administrator at the William Mitchell College of Law. Kosek completed her bachelor of arts from Hamline University in St. Paul.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to help advance a unique alumni program in an innovative climate," said Kosek. "I look forward to serving alumni and becoming a member of the Carlson School team."

Kosek replaces Jennifer Gelbmann, who left the position in January to become the University of Minnesota Alumni Association associate executive director of outreach. # # #
