Career Handbooks The classic Business Career Center resource is our Career Handbook, which contains information on all aspects of your job search, from your strategy to the cover letter, interview and thank you letter. We have put all this information on the web for you as reference guide. Check this resource for fast and easy resume information, cover letter examples, strategy tips and more, direct from your Business Career Center.

Career Library The Business Career Center Library is designed to help you with your independent job search. To facilitate that search we have incorporated many different types of resources into the library stock. We carry books, videos, CD-ROMs, company literature, original publications, and computers with alumni contact information. The library is open during our regular business hours, and we encourage you to come in and check out all that we can offer you.

Carlson Recruiting Companies This section lists the companies that recruit at the Carlson School of Management. Along with their name is the URL to research the company directly.

Company Interest Statement The Business Career Center has held focus groups with business recruiters to evaluate our The Edge system and discuss updates that would be beneficial to them in making their hiring decisions. We discovered that recruiters wanted a tool, in addition to the resume, that would tell them more specifically why students were interested in the position posted with their firm. They suggested a short, concise statement (a mini cover letter) that they could read in addition to the resume.

Company Research & Links This section lists several helpful websites that facilitate the Company Research stage.

Job Research Links The Business Career Center staff has spent a significant amount of time researching various web sites which will be extremely helpful for you during your job search. We have listed many types of web sites including: Full Service sites, which contain a variety of useful information and are interactive; Job Listing sites which allow you to search on-line job postings; sites that are specific to a degree or major (MBA, Accounting, MIS, Marketing); Company and Career research sites; and sites which can link you directly to other business job search pages. There is an enormous amount of information to help you on the web, and we strongly encourage you to check out some of these web links to give you the edge in your career search.

Networking Resources Networking is one of the most important aspects when trying to find a job. In this section, you will learn about our Networking Resources.
