As a Part-Time MBA student, you can graduate any month of the year, provided you have fulfilled all program requirements. In order to be cleared for graduation, all coursework must be completed with the final grades posted and all program fees must be paid.
Graduation Forms
-
No later than the beginning of your final semester, be sure to submit an * Application For Degree Form and a * Graduation Plan (if an updated one is not on file with the Part-Time MBA Program). The program office will send you a graduation clearance letter after your final semester grades have been posted and verified. Please note that for those graduating between the months of March and August, it is highly advisable that both forms be sent to the Part-Time MBA Program no later than March 1. The program office sends graduation commencement invitations only to those who have submitted their forms by this deadline.
Study Abroad
- Graduating students who are participating in May or Summer term global enrichment programs should not select May as their graduation month on the Application for Degree Form. This is due to the policy that a student must have ALL of their grades posted before their degree can be cleared. Please note that for most May or Summer global enrichment programs, the grades will not be posted until at least August. Therefore, this is the earliest that most May / Summer study abroad participants would be eligible for degree clearance.
Commencement
-
The Carlson School holds one graduation ceremony each May for those students who have graduated during the academic year (September 1 - August 31). The next commencement will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM in Northrop Memorial Auditorium. Dr. Richard Florida, a leading expert on the relationship between creativity and the global economy, has been selected to give the 2010 commencement address. Click here for complete information on the graduate commencement ceremony.
Caps and gowns can be acquired in-person at GradFest March 24-25 or ordered online starting March 30.
Call for Commencement Speaker Nominations

These students represent the highest level of academic achievement across the Carlson School of Management and are recognized at the spring commencement ceremony. Qualifying students will be notified in mid-to-late March.
