Custom Programs Development Process

A Collaborative Partnership

Executive Education understands that each client is unique: different goals, different industries, different development needs. The collaboration process between your organization and Executive Education is continuous, allowing you to add input at every stage. This process lends itself to the creation of a program that successfully meets your organization's goals.

1) Consultation: The initial consultation is an exploratory meeting that allows our faculty to understand both the general goals of the learning experience and the desired outcomes of your organization, while giving you the opportunity to discover the full range of the University of Minnesota's academic resources.

2) Organization Needs Assessment: The assessment is an in-depth review of key learning objectives, further clarification of organizational goals and a discussion of potential learning methods and mediums that will be successful in your organization.

3) Program Design & Development: Once a program blueprint is designed we recruit faculty, both from the Carlson School of Management and other major Universities, as well as noted content experts. Both the faculty and Executive Education will work closely with you in developing program materials, implementing processes that are designed to fit the program curriculum to the objectives of your organization.

4) Participant Needs Assessment & Development Plan: We offer a customized Planner that provides a structured vehicle for driving conversations about development needs and identifying on-the-job educational opportunities and obstacles for participants. The sponsor and the participant will meet to assess learning needs and to devise a comprehensive development plan.

5) Program Management & Delivery: Program management and delivery is administered by Executive Education. Action-oriented, application-centered learning is guaranteed through an effective combination of case discussions, presentations, visuals, and small group learning activities. Exercises based upon challenges encountered by your company's executives are utilized in order to engage participants in understanding specific organizational challenges.

Follow Up Consultation: Following the program additional consultations with your organization are held to discuss any modifications to future offerings of the program.
