ClassroomTechnology

Most Carlson School general purposes classrooms are equipped with computers and audio visual equipment.  The Office of Classroom Management manages the information and scheduling for these classrooms in Hanson Hall and Carlson buildings. To view this information on their website:

  • Select Quick Link "Classroom Schedule Viewer"
  • Select Carlson School (or Hanson Hall) from the buildings to view a schedule for each room.
  • To view a list of equipment and a picture of the room layout, select the link for the desired room.
  • If the room has specific instructions, click the Instructions link to view instructions for use of the equipment available.

 


ClassroomSoftware

Classroom computers are configured with standard software applications. Classroom computer images are updated each semester break.  Request image/software update.


Special MediaRequests

The IT Department Event Technicians require a minimum two-week notice for all special AV requests (in Carlson-controlled spaces only) to include:  video conferences, media recording, PA system setups, projection cart setups, or panel discussion microphones. Contact the IT Service Center to make your request. (Fees are listed below.)

 

Video Conferencing or Media Recording Technology Fees
(CSOM 2-206, 2-207 and 2-260T):

  • CSOM Credit Courses = no additional technology fee, room rental fee only; on call support M-F during standard business hours = no additional fee
  • CSOM Events = $100 daily flat fee for technology in addition to room rental fee;  on call support M-F during standard business hours = no additional fee
  • U of M Users = $150 daily flat fee for technology in addition to room rental fee; on call support M-F during standard business hours = $25/hour
  • External Entity = $250 daily flat fee for technology in addition to room rental fee, on call support M-F during standard business hours = $25/hour
  • Evenings and Weekends = Evaluated case-by-case prior to scheduling
  • Media Recording in 3M Auditorium (1-115):
    • Audio Only @ $50
    • Audio and Camera @ $150
    • Camera Operator @ $65/hour

AV EquipmentAvailable for Checkout
Equipment listed below is available* to Carlson departments for setup in Carlson-controlled spaces only during standard business hours, M-F, 8AM to 4:30PM. For events or classes held outside standard business hours OR in spaces controlled by the Office of Classroom Management, AV equipment and/or technician support requests may be directed to HHI Events Technician at 626-3509 or Classroom Support Services at 626-1411.

 Note: Carlson IT has no portable wireless microphone and receiver available.
 

Carlson-controlled Classrooms with Wireless Microphones:

 

Executive Center classrooms CSOM 2-260R, 2-260T, 2-260Z as well as 2-206, 2-207 have one wireless lapel microphone that remains in the classroom at all times.

 

3M Auditorium (CSOM 1-115) has two lapel and three handheld microphones that may be checked out from Building Services (csrmschd@umn.edu).
