GiveToday

State funding for education is decreasing and tuition for students is increasing. We depend increasingly on the goodwill of donations from alumni and friends of the CHRLS.

There are four primary giving options you can choose:

MA-HRIR FELLOWSHIP FUND

Recruiters searching to hire the top HR Master's students tell us they come to the Carlson School's HRIR program because they know our students have received an outstanding education in the field of HRIR, and have worked with internationally-known and respected faculty members who are leaders in their fields.  In order to maintain this culture of excellence we need to continue to attract the best and brightest students.  And, to do that, we must continue to be able to offer them financial support.

PhD-HRIR FELLOWSHIP FUND

The Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies's PhD in Human Resources and Industrial Relations is a rigorous doctoral program that prepares students for academic careers as teachers and researchers, while giving them the opportunity to study with our internationally-renowned faculty who are widely published in top academic journals.  While some PhD students complete the degree in 4 years, those without previous graduate coursework often take an extra year.  Current funding provides these students with up to 4 years of support, leaving many of our students with a full year of study unfunded.

HERMAN REFERENCE ROOM FUND

The Herman Reference Room is a comprehensive reference library that specializes in human resource management and labor relations, and is open to students, faculty, the professional community, and the public.  The Reference Room provides information on a wide range of topics of interest to HR practitioners and researchers, including recruitment, training, compensation, job satisfaction, motivation, stress, drug testing, strategic management, effects of technological change, mergers, diversity, labor relations, unions, organizational socialization, absenteeism, and turnover.  Your financial support of the Reference Room is needed to help ensure that this collection remains robust and up-to-date.

CHRLS GENERAL FUND

A donation to this fund allows us to use the money where it is most needed - for the funds noted above as well as other important initiatives to maintain our excellence.  The CHRLS is committed to the strategic and responsible management of these funds in ways that attract and retain students and faculty of the highest quality.
