Parking ramps near Carlson School
Evening parking is available at the 19th Avenue Ramp (connected by skyway to the Carlson School of Management) and the 21st Avenue Ramp. These ramps have a special a.m. and p.m. daily rate if you arrive before 7:45 a.m. or after 4:30 p.m. If you are parking in the ramps between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. there is an hourly rate. Carpool lots become available to the public after noon. The University of Minnesota parking lots and ramps close at midnight. There is no overnight parking available in the lots. Tickets will be issued for cars left in the lots after midnight. Call 612/626-PARK (7275) for parking advice.

 

Other parking options
Other options for parking your car are the “Park and Ride” lots on 29th Avenue and Como Avenue SE and the Transit way lot located at Oak and 5th Street SE, both in Minneapolis. There is a charge to park, but free campus shuttle service is available from these lots. (Campus buses do not offer weekend or holiday service.) If you park on the streets, be aware of city parking regulations, pay attention to “No Parking” signs and observe the snow emergency rules during winter months. Announcements are made in the newspapers, on the radio and TV.

 

Motorist Assistance Program
Parking and Transportation Services has instituted a Motorist Assistance Program (MAP). The services provided are jump starts, changing flat tires, unlocking vehicles, and referrals on request when the service requested is beyond the scope of their staff. MAP is available from 7 a.m. until midnight, Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday. You can reach MAP at 612/626-PARK.
