InstituteAffiliates

Institute affiliates are graduates of the Carlson MBA program who want ongoing access to the school's faculty and research, life-long learning programs, students and alumni in the industry, and opportunities to network with industry leaders.

Institute Affiliates will have access to a wide range of member rewards  including:

  • Cases from student experiential learning projects and work site innovations
  • Medical industry data resources
  • Institute member directory
  • Venture board
  • Discount on institute sponsored seminars and events
  • Opportunity to visit a MILI class session
  • Service opportunities
  • Access to First Tuesday discount
  • Access to faculty expertise for specific topic/project
  • Postings for grant opportunities, industry conferences, etc.
  • Co-host or co-sponsor event to be held at the Carlson School


Institute Affiliate for Current Students

The following criteria must be met to become an Institute Affiliate.

  1. Successful completion of a medical industry specialization.
  2. Submission of leadership statement
    Those with exceptional leadership statements have the opportunity to become affiliates with distinction. Leadership statements from this select group may be turned into licensed case studies that would be available for use at other academic programs across the country.

Affiliate Application for current students


AlumniAffiliate

If you graduated from the Carlson School, prior to December 2007, and are interested in becoming an Institute Affiliate, you must agree to fulfill a commitment of “service.” “Service” can be defined as any of the volunteer opportunities listed below. If you are currently involved as a volunteer at the Carlson School, it will count toward fulfilling the service requirement. You must complete at least one service opportunity in the first year of membership. In subsequent years, to keep your affiliate status active, you will be required to submit an online member update.


Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Guest lecture at a medical industry related course or event
  • Host student site visits at your organization
  • Sponsor institute event
  • Facilitate corporate sponsorship of institute
  • Provide student internships
  • Facilitate recruiting at your organization
  • Mentor student
