Luncheon Event: Visit of CIPE President John Sullivan
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: Tentatively at the Radisson Plaza Hotel-Minneapolis in downtown Minneapolis - Hosted by Caux Round Table and the Minnesota Trade office.
The ground rules of international affairs and international business are changing. The optimism for globalization that came with the collapse of the Soviet Union has faded away. Vladimir Putin is now contributing, in no small measure, to the current anxiety about our futures. The American "War on Terror" after 12 years of effort and large expenditures has not turned the tables on violent fundamentalism in Islam, which is robust in central Africa and the Middle East. For the first time in centuries, China is flexing its power abroad by challenging its neighbors for air / sea rights and buying its way into Africa. Private business makes for strong middle classes, which in turn create market environments most hospitable for U.S. companies in which to buy, sell and manufacture. At this luncheon event CIPE President John Sullivan will discuss the state of private enterprise around the world.
