Faculty Development

CIBER provides multiple professional development opportunities for instructors across the region. Additional Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) programs are available through the CIBER network.

Opportunities for May 2014

PDIB Mercosur - CIBER is offering a complimentary spot on the 2014 PDIB Mercosur program hosted by Florida International University. This program explores how Brazil, Argentina and Chile are dealing with the global recession, especially as those economies whose growth relied mostly on commodity prices, will be forced to change policies as a way to entice business creation. Program full for 2014.

Professional Development Program in Central and Eastern Europe - CIBER is offering one available space to participate on the Carlson School's Global Business Practicum program in Austria and Poland (MBA-level). The program provides a first-hand look at the business environment of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and is designed as a partnership between the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), the Carlson School, and 3M. The program will be working on a marketing project for 3M. Program full for 2014.

Overseas Programs

CIBER offers overseas opportunities for faculty to explore international business and business education. Current programs include:

  • PDIB Scandinavia - A 12-day Professional Development in International Business program showcasing sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices and research in Scandinavia. Travel destinations include Copenhagen, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden. Read more »
  • Professional Development Program in Short-Term Education Abroad - Regional faculty members can participate on Carlson School short-term education abroad programs at the undergraduate or MBA level. Recent programs include China, Central and Eastern Europe and Australia.
  • FDIBs through CIBER network - We sponsor faculty to participate in FDIBs offered through other CIBER schools. Recent programs include PDIB Mercosur, FDIB Southeast Asia, PDIB India and FDIB Africa.

Domestic Programs

CIBER supports regional faculty members to attend the CIBER Business Language Conference and international business institutes for community college faculty.
