Global Dimensions of the Food Industry - a Professional Development Institute for Teachers

CIBER and the Institute for Global Studies are co-hosting a summer institute for teachers focused global dimensions of the food industry, including trends in agricultural trade, food policy, supply chains, marketing and food safety. The workshop includes class sessions, case studies, and discussions with local companies; and the course meets several standards of the Minnesota Social Studies Standards. Global Business of Food

Dates: June 23-26, 2014; 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Carlson School of Management

Registration deadline: June 9, 2014

CIBER and the Institute for Global Studies are co-hosting a summer workshop for teachers that will focus on international trends in consumption, distribution, agriculture, and more. Issues pertaining to global food supply chains and operations as well as food safety will be discussed through class sessions, case studies, and discussions with local companies. The program includes a site visit to International Dairy Queen. The cost is $100, and or more information and to register, please visit the Institute for Global Studies.

 


High School Global Business Day

CIBER hosts a Global Business Day at Carlson for high school juniors and seniors studying international business. In 2012 and 2013 we hosted students participating in business capstone courses at Chaska and Chanhassen High Schools. If your school is interested in this opportunity, please contact ciber@umn.edu.
