Objective: This program focuses on business in Europe. Working
with other international students under the direction of international
faculty, students take two courses in management, one in economics and a practice-oriented course with strong company involvement.
The program is open to Carlson graduate and senior level undergraduate students in good academic standing, with a GPA of 3.0 at the time of application. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
Cologne is Germany's fourth largest city. The cultural and economic capital of the Rhineland region, Cologne has a vibrant art scene and is known throughout Germany for being a major media center.

Students take 4 classes Monday–Friday over 4 weeks on topics such as risk management, customer relationship management, the Euro, and European economic policies. The business project is a consultatory-like project where students work independently and are co-tutored by academics and company representatives. Past projects cooperated with Detsch Lufthansa AG, A.T. Kearney and Haniel.
Students are housed in single rooms at residencies within a close distance to the University. Breakfast is provided. Students have access to the University dining halls for lunch and dinner for an inexpensive fee. Homestays with host families are also an option.
The program fee is $1,000, which covers program administration, international health insurance, course materials, group excursions, and transportation passes in Cologne. Students should budget approximately $1,500 to $2,000 for housing and miscellaneous living expenses. Airfare, meals, personal travel and expenses are not covered by the program fee.
The 12 academic credits for this program will be charged at the University of Minnesota Part-Time MBA per-credit resident rate for 2010–2011. Please see One Stop for more information about tuition and fees.

The application deadline is February 15, 2011 (rolling admission).
Once students submit an application, they will be informed of their status within 4 weeks of the deadline. Once selected, students will be charged a $500 non-refundable deposit in order to confirm a place in the program.
