Vladas Griskevicius is the University of Minnesota McKnight Land-Grant Professor of Marketing and Psychology. He studies the ancestral roots of modern consumer behavior and decision making. His areas of expertise include sustainability and green marketing, motivation and emotion, evolutionary psychology, social influence and persuasion, and conspicuous consumption.
Griskevicius has received the Best Article Award from the Journal of Consumer Research, Best Paper Award from the Society for Consumer Psychology, the SAGE Scholar Early Career Award in Social and Personality Psychology, and multiple awards from the Human Behavior and Evolution Society. His research has been featured on the Discovery Channel, the Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC News, FOX News, CNN, and TIME magazine. Griskevicius recently received the Best Teacher Award at the Carlson School of Management and two major grants from the National Science Foundation.
