Labor Film Lending Library

Check out the Labor Film Lending Library at the University of Minnesota:
It's free and open to the public!

The Labor Education Service is thrilled to announce a new, free, Labor Film Lending Library, featuring videos and films on a variety of labor-related topics and themes. LES created this service in collaboration with the staff at the Herman Library.

The collection includes:

  • Classics such as At the River I Stand, Matewan, Norma Rae, 10,000 Black Men Named George, The Wobblies, Salt of the Earth, Silkwood, and Harlan County, U.S.A.
  • More recent films that explore the global economy and immigration.
  • Videos produced by LES that highlight Minnesota union struggles.

In order to view the DVD & VHS Collection, follow the these steps:

  1. Visit the online Herman Library catalog
  2. Click on "lists" on the top navigation
  3. Click on "special titles" on the left navigation
  4. Click on DVD & VHS Collection

These are available to check out to students, staff, faculty and the general public. Some of the titles may be useful for classes or as an at-home assignment.

The Herman Library is located on the 3rd floor of the Carlson School of Management in the Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies:
