Thomas V. Sullivan is the General Manager of United Essentials, a division of UnitedHealthcare, which develops innovative health insurance products that are aligned with current and expected health care, employer and public policy trends.   Since joining UnitedHealth Group in 2003, Sullivan has also served as the General Manager for HealthAllies and Chief Financial Officer for Optum, HealthAllies, and Consumer Solutions businesses.

 

Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Sullivan was at Metris Companies, Inc. where he held several roles including Senior Director of Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions and Senior Director of Finance. He also has experience at Deloitte and Touche LLP where he was a manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory practice. 

 

Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.    

 

At Carlson on Metrics, Sullivan will serve as a panel discussant on “Metrics of Growth” in the Metrics of Growth: Measuring Progress session.
