Along with an in-depth study of taxation, the Master of Business Taxation (MBT) program gives students a broad perspective into the relationship between tax and business issues. This combination can help professionals advance their careers beyond technical tax matters to positions in management and consulting. In addition, many MBT students bring years of experience to the classroom, creating an educational setting where students learn not just from instructors, but from each other. This can be particularly helpful for those enrolling directly from an undergraduate program.
To accommodate both part-time and full-time students, all classes meet one evening a week, from 5:45 to 9:05 p.m. To free tax professionals from coursework responsibilities during the busiest part of the tax season, no courses meet during the spring semester from early March through April 15.
