Academics

Experiential Learning

Domestic residencies

Held at the start of both years of the program, each residency is an intense 4-day live-in experience that provides valuable tools to help you work in diverse study teams. During the first residency, you'll focus on team processes as you adjust to being back in school and complete a statistics boot camp. During the second residency, you'll reconnect with classmates, get to know new first-year students, and dive back into academics.

Capstone project

This challenging team project lets you integrate and apply what you've learned in the classroom to real business issues. In a recent project, students analyzed an organization and made recommendations to senior management based on what they learned in the financial accounting, organizational behavior, and operations management courses.

Global virtual team project

This project brings students together from our Executive MBA programs in Vienna, Austria; Warsaw, Poland; Guangzhou, China; and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Teams must adapt to vast language and cultural differences as they work together in virtual settings to develop and introduce a new product to an overseas market. At the conclusion of the project, students convene at the Carlson School for team presentations and networking.
