Jianfeng Yu Appointed to Piper Jaffray Professorship in Finance

Associate Professor Jianfeng Yu has been appointed to the Piper Jaffray Professorship in Finance. Yu, who joined the Carlson School in 2008, studies asset pricing with an emphasis on behavioral factors, frictions, contracts, and international issues. He has published on these topics in major journals in finance and economics, including The Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Management Science.

His paper, "Technological Growth and Asset Pricing," earned a 2012 Smith-Breeden Prize. The prizes are awarded annually to the top three papers The Journal of Finance in any area other than corporate finance.

Yu holds a BS in Probability and Statistics from University of Science and Technology of China, an MA in Statistics from Yale University, and a PhD in Finance from University of Pennsylvania.
