11 Carlson School Alumni and Students Make Semis of Minnesota Cup

The semi-finalists for the 2012 Minnesota Cup were recently announced. Among the 49 of the best and most innovative business ideas, 11 of them have Carlson School connections. They include:

General Blood - Ben Bowman, '10 MBA
Green Chemistries - Amit Shukla, '07 MBA
Heroic - Reed Robinson, '06 BSB
Kevin by Perk Health - Zachary McGill, current undergraduate
Omicron Health - David DuChene, '98 MBA
PointStack - Ryan Eggenberger, current MBA student
PreciouStatus - Julie Gilbert, '93 BSB, '99 MBA
Telemetry Web - Frank Grazzini, '07 MBA
United Medical Innovations - Kevin Liu, '09 MBA

The eighth annual competition offers $200,000 in cash prizes across six award divisions: Clean Tech & Renewable Energy, BioScience & Health IT, Student, General, High Tech, and Social Entrepreneur. A winner from each division will be awarded $25,000 in seed capital, with the exception of the student division ($10,000) and social entrepreneur division ($20,000).

The winners of each division will compete for the grand prize that includes an additional $40,000 in seed capital, the Minnesota Cup award, and business services from Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand law firm.
