Norwood Teague, University of Minnesota's director of athletics, will present "The Business of College Athletics" at the next "1st Tuesday Speaker Series" on August 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center.
Teague was introduced as the University of Minnesota's director of athletics on April 23, 2012. He joined Gopher Athletics after an ultra-successful, six-year run as director of athletics at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Va. Prior to his time at VCU, Teague honed his craft at some of the nation's most prestigious athletic departments, including North Carolina, Arizona State, and Virginia.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., and a graduate of the University of North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in political science, Teague also holds a master's degree in sports administration from Ohio University.
