SOBACO Sponsors Big Data Symposium

The Social Media and Business Analytics Collaborative (SOBACO) program recently co-sponsored the Statistical Challenges in Ecommerce Research (SCECR) Symposium hosted at McGill University in Montreal. In addition to sponsorship, a number of Carlson School and SOBACO faculty presented at the symposium on topics ranging from multisourcing to ethical ramifications of big data research.

The SCECR symposium was founded in 2005 by Carlson School Professor and SOBACO Director Ravi Bapna, along with Galit Shmueli, and Wolfgang Jank, with the purpose of bringing together researchers across disciplines to address the statistical challenges and issues unique to research that used Web-based data.
