Honoring Our Veterans

Monday, November 12, 2012

We all owe a debt of gratitude to our servicemen and women who are around the world, and often in harm's way, in defense of our freedom. As these veterans come home, the Carlson School is doing its part to help them transition from military service to the world of business.

From now until November 21, it is our goal to raise $75,000 which will help us grow our annual fund to support up to 20 veterans per year in our Full-Time MBA Program.

Donations help cover the cost of attendance that is not covered by the G.I. Bill. Most veterans who apply to the Carlson MBA are 40-60 percent eligible for G.I. Bill benefits. It will also allow the Carlson School to provide mentorships, internships, a degree, and employment opportunities while protecting veterans from incurring debt.

The Carlson School Full-Time MBA Program complements the leadership and organizational skills our vets have learned during their service. In our program, veterans gain real-world business experience to make a successful transition to the private sector.

"Carlson is an absolutely fantastic place for me to explore marketing, finance, and strategic business development," says first-year MBA student, Lieutenant Ernie Lietzan, U.S. Army. "All of these things I didn't realize were options for me are now on the table. The future is wide open, and I really like that."
