On-Campus interviews

Each year during the fall and spring semesters, more than 100 companies come to campus to interview students for permanent positions and internships. Sign up for interviews and check schedules on CARS.

Internships

On-campus interviews for internships usually occur from late January through March. While the process is administered through CARS, some companies recruit interns in the fall only, so be sure to check CARS in the fall. Students can earn academic credit through the accounting department for accounting internships. The UBCC coordinates interviews at the beginning of October. Tax and audit internships are available with public accounting firms for tax season and during the summer.

Permanent jobs

On-campus interviews for permanent jobs usually occur from late September through mid-December. Moderate recruiting also often occurs during the spring semester.

External job postings

Several hundred companies recruit Carlson School students for full-time permanent positions and internships through CARS external job postings. Companies do not conduct on-campus interviews for these postings. If you set up an agent in CARS, you'll automatically receive external job postings that match your registration criteria.

Company information sessions

Many companies hold information sessions prior to on-campus interviews, a few weeks or a day before the interview. Sessions are extremely valuable, and recruiters expect students with scheduled interviews to attend. You must register ahead of time through CARS. If you're not on the interview schedule, you can attend most sessions to network and try to get on the schedule. In CARS, you can set up an agent that will send you reminders about upcoming sessions associated with relevant postings. Agents will also remind you of sessions you're planning to attend. Dress is business casual.

Resume searches

Companies can search CARS for students to fill internships and full-time positions. As a student, you must upload your resume on CARS to be considered for these positions.

Company websites

CARS includes links to companies that actively recruit Carlson School students. Use this feature frequently to stay informed about companies and prepare for interviews.

Use the company contact section of CARS to network with employers and request information.
