The classroom computers have been configured with Deep Freeze which protects the computers from malicious or accidental damage. One of the features of this program is that any files saved to the hard-drive are automatically deleted when the computer is rebooted.

Files may be saved on the Z: Drive/Thaw Space during the semester where they can be accessed at a later time. (To view the Z: drive/Thaw Space, double-click My Computer.) However, the classroom computers are reconfigured at the end of each semester or occasionally if computer problems occur, and at that time the files on the Thaw Space are also deleted. OIT recommends that users always bring any files needed for a class or presentation on a USB drive or CD.
