Timberwolves vs. New Orleans Friday, January 23, 2009
The MBA Programs office will host a Timberwolves outing for MBA students and their guests. The event is $10 per person and includes a game ticket, tour of the corporate facilities, a meeting with the Timberwolves president, and a picture on center court. 1st Year Core Case Competition Winners!
Congratulations to the 1st place winners (1st year MBA team B5), Justin Bell, Reed Edwards, Lane Elmer, Rachel Evanich, Lindsay Kalin and Nathan Rajalingam.
The runner up team was A4: David Mitchell, Kari Niedfeldt-Thomas, Mandeep Sachdev, Jeffrey Davis and Rukaiya Yamyolia.
IT Student Services Increase in Students With Infected Laptops
- Banner Ads and Popups: There is a significant increase in Banner Ads that have hidden packages of MANY viruses that will install on your machine. The Ad's and popups are looking more legitimate telling users they need to update their version of FLASH or ADOBE. NEVER click "yes" when asked if you want to update your software now; ALWAYS use the manufactures website for all software updates and upgrades.
- Facebook Virus: If you receive a message, with a link in the message, from someone you know or do not know DO NOT CLICK THE LINK IN THE BODY. This is a known issue that has affected Carlson students and Facebook is working to resolve this vulnerability.

For the latest news from the Medical Industry Leadership Institute, read the winter issue of the electronic newsletter Pulse. This issue will give you the latest on: the new Medical Industry Enterprise course, description of the health care marketplace course, student spotlight on Hann-Yu Chang, an update from MILISA, Professor Ian Maitland's research on drug pricing and "priceless goods," and an alumni spotlight on Dr. Rahul Koranne, medical director of HealthEast Bethesda Hospital.

It will outline the required and recommended preparation activities, the time commitment, and the career opportunities available. A required workshop for on-campus interviewing participation.
Interview Stream - Available Now! Interview Stream is a new tool where you can practice your
interviewing skills in front of a webcam. To register, follow these instructions:
Enter URL: http://umn.interviewstream.com/ Click Sign-Up to register (upper-right corner of screen) Fill out the form (use x.500 email address). Make sure to click Agree before submitting your information. Once submitted, you will need to login to the system by typing your username (x.500 email address) and password in the fields found in the upper-right corner of your screen.
"Student Dashboard" screen will appear. We recommend you view the Demonstration, Webinar, and Interview Suite to become better acquainted with the system.
After you have completed your registration with Interview Stream, you have two options, either use your own webcam or make a reservation through the GBCC front desk to use our webcam. Make sure to read the User Guide before you use Interview Stream, and use the Critique Form to make notes and critique yourself when you watch your interviewing videos.
