Participate in Deciding TA Selection Criteria
University Office Plaza, Suite 400, 2221 University Ave SE
Choose ONE of these dates:
Option 1: Thursday, March 26 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Option 2: Thursday, April 9, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
For over 20 years, the U has required TAs to pass an English test before they can teach. Soon, a new test will be used to determine what level of English is sufficient to teach. We at the International TA Program want undergraduates to weigh in on the decision. If you want a voice in this decision, attend a 90-minute meeting – we’ll provide pizza and drinks. All you’ll do is listen to recordings and decide if the speaker’s English is good enough to be a teaching assistant or instructor.
Because we hope for a diverse group of undergraduates, if you are interested, please e-mail your name, dept./college, age, gender (or gender identification or expression), year in school (freshman /senior), and the date you will attend to Aubrie Adams at teachlrn@umn.edu.
