Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Carlson School (recently rated in the top 10 in terms of research nationwide) addresses the external relations between the organization and its environment as well as the internal processes of organizational adaptation and change. Our PhD. program draws on world-renowned scholars in strategic management, entrepreneurship, international business, and innovation. We seek to prepare students to conduct high level research in strategic management, entrepreneurship, and related areas in management. We encourage students to develop deep expertise in a foundational field such as economics, sociology, social psychology, or other related fields that complement their core areas of study. Students develop an individualized program of study and work closely with faculty on developing research and teaching skills.
The Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship (SME) department at the Carlson School of Management is the home of some of the field’s most eminent thought leaders. Known for their path breaking, creative and rigorous research, SME faculty examine issues related to strategy, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior and theory, technology management, social responsibility, ethics, and international management.
