Biography

Kevin A. Kuhn is a Senior Lecturer and Outreach Coordinator in the Information and Data Science (IDSc) Department at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. Kuhn has over thirty years of experience as an Information Technology professional. His expertise lies in enterprise systems, large change programs, and data warehousing/analytics.  

Prior to his current role, Kuhn was a Vice President and CIO at UnitedHealth Group/Optum. He led large change enterprise-wide programs typically around the financial, accounting, human resource, and other enterprise administrative functions. During his role as Corporate Segment CIO he had direct responsibilities for IT strategy, software development, quality management, change management, and operations of over 85 business applications.

Mr. Kuhn was also previously an Associate Partner with Accenture. At Accenture, he had over fourteen years of consulting experience across a variety of industries and clients. He led a number of large programs primarily in the ERP, budgeting & forecasting, and the Data Warehousing space for Financial Services industry.

Outside of his business professional career, Mr. Kuhn is also a fiction author. HIs fictional works have won a number of independent literary awards including the Foreword Publishing -  Book of the Year award for short fiction. He is a proud member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writer's of America.
