About

Bob is a Senior Partner with Aon Hewitt (The consulting division of Aon Corporation).  Bob has been working in Employee Benefits since 1980.  His special area of expertise is retirement benefits, but his expertise extends into all employee benefits.  During the course of his career Bob has worked with more than 50 large employers, more than half of those are Fortune 500 Companies, and many have global operations.

Bob is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ball State University in Actuarial Science and has been on the Board of the American Benefits Council since 2008.

Current Activities 

Administrative Appointments

  • Senior Lecturer -  University of Minnesota—Carlson School of Management
    2012- Present
    -Instructed graduate level class on Employee Benefits within the Human Resources Master’s Program
    -Created class curriculum including assignment and test creation, lesson plans and grading to University standards
    -Mentored students on educational and professional topics
    -Fostered an interactive teaching approach including: case studies, activities and projects
    -Applied Moodle website and other University educational tools
    -Received consistently strong student feedback annually
  • Senior Partner Aon Hewitt—Bloomington, MN
    1980-2015
    -Practiced as actuary and consultant with Fortune size organizations across the U.S.
    -Promoted to Partner after seven years of service and advanced to Senior Partner
    -Served as Board Member for the American Benefits Council from 2008–2014
    -Established a retirement practice with an initial (1996) revenue budget of $2.9 million and current revenue target of $30+ million
    -Consulted on various financial topics (e.g., funding, accounting) related to employee benefits
    -Designed and led mentorship classes and materials for actuaries and consultants
    -Led client meetings and mentored consultants as primary goal of day-to-day work
